Spend your day snorkeling amidst breathtaking underwater beauty of this tropical paradise, kayaking in the stunning oasis of the park, and exploring idyllic caves, lagoons, and rock formations. Experiences Koh Samui as it was back in the days at the only sea gypsy village there is on Koh Paluay, the only inhabited island in the park. If sunbathing is all you want, pick one of many white, sandy beaches of your choice and relax.
Numbers of both natural and man-made attractions in Koh Samui welcome a lot of visitors on daily basis. The golden statue of Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai) and fascinating Nuan Naram Temple (Wat Plai Laem) are only 6 km. to the east of our beachfront resort in Bophut.
The iconic Grandfather & Grandmother Rocks (Hin Ta & Hin Yai) is 30-min drive away to the south. Among many selections of waterfall, Namuang Waterfall, with striking purple shade of their rock faces, is the most visited one as it is good for swimming in its natural pool and trekking through the jungle. Koh Samui is also perfect for cyclists, either with a tour or on your own.
Koh Samui underwater heaven is one of Thailand’s best scuba spots. From friendly giant like blacktip sharks to colorful Spanish Dancer Nudibranchs, wide array of marine species can be found in this amazing gem of Thailand Gulf. Sail rock, arguably the most famous diving site in this area, is only 50-min away from Koh Samui by speed boat. If luck is on your side, lovely whale sharks will come and greet you. Yellow fusiliers, barracudas, giant morays, large groupers and many more are among Koh Samui’s scuba highlights.
Only 15-min drive can take you to “Koh Samui Party Zone” in Chaweng Beach. Lots of club, bars, and entertainment venues are welcoming you to dance and have fun until early morning.
Soi Green Mango is crème de la crème of this busiest area of Koh Samui as it is the location of many clubs with hundreds of punters every night, Soi Reggae is also another long-standing nighttime hot spot with the biggest boxing stadium of the island at the entrance of the soi (soi means small street/alley in Thai.) Variety of cabaret shows, boxing shows, and pool parties can also be found around the island. Koh Pha Ngan, the party island known around the world for its infamous full-moon, half-moon, and black-moon parties, is also 20-min away from our resort by speed boat. Your night in Koh Samui will never be boring for certain.
As the 2nd largest island of Thailand, Koh Samui has lots of markets for your shopping sprees. Whether you love shopping or just shop when you need to, Koh Samui will not let you down with strips and strips of tailor, boutique, and souvenir shops. Fisherman’s Village and Bophut Plaza are within walking distance from our resort.
With well-reserved Thai-Chinese style from early-days Koh Samui, Fisherman’s Village is absolutely a walk-to-remember while you stroll along upscale diners, local eateries, fashion stores, art shops for something to bring home and a lot more.
After step back in Time at Fisherman’s Village, walk another 500 meters to The Wharf Samui. “The Brand-New Beachfront Shopping Plaza”, as promoted on its website, this new shopping district by the beach is where you can shop and chill ‘till you drop and drunk. Designed with retro East-meet-West vibe, The Wharf has almost hundred shops, from IT gadgets to handmade good, for you to splurge from after breakfast until before midnight.
Walking Street markets are also worth visiting and spending both time and money. Opening between 5 – 10 PM, depends on its location, mark your calendar for Walking Street markets as following; Thursday and Friday for walking street in Maenam Beach (dubbed as Best Food Beach by many visitors), Friday for Bophut Walking Street (around Fisherman’s Village), and Saturday for both in Chaweng and Nathon.
Consider these choices as a relaxing activity before taking a taxi to Chaweng Beach where you can shop some more at Central Festival Samui, the biggest mall in Koh Samui with brand shops and multiplex cinema, or hit a party scene either in Chaweng itself or taking a speedboat to the Full Moon Party in Koh Pha Ngan.
Koh Samui has plenty of activities for family. Fairway Samui, the professional-run playground in Jungle Book theme, is the place your 4 months – 8 years old kids can have fun and make friends. For your older ones, Coco Splash Adventure & Water Park in Lamai is probably one of the places youngsters want to visit the most.
Same goes for Aqua Park in Bophut and/or Chaweng. Animal-lover families will love Paradise Park Farm, Samui Butterfly Garden, and Samui Aquarium and Tiger Zoo. Taking a bath with elephants is also another fun activity your whole family can enjoy together.
